Q: I am a complete beginner can I join the class?
A: Yes our classes are suitable for all levels
Q: Are there any particular beginner classes, or days a beginner should show up
A: You can show up to any class, you will be paired with a senior student who will guide you through the basic exercises of the class. This will happen for a first few lessons until you are familiar with the class routine.
Q: Do you have a free trial lesson?
A: We do not have a free trial lesson
Q: If I miss a class, do they roll over?
A: The classes do not roll over, try to attend every class that your membership permits. If you find you are missing too many classes, you can revise your membership with the club.
Q: Can you come to my house for private lessons?
Q: Do you offer concessions for people on benefits
A: Yes, they are valid to subscribe under the student fee
Q: Can I come and watch a lesson?
A: There is no substitute for actually feeling how a class is, taking part of it. Watching one lesson does not give you a sense of true martial arts training. If you would like to watch clips of our class you can watch the video on the classes pages.
Q: I have trained Wing Chun before, can I join your class
A: Yes you can join our class as it is suitable for all levels, if you are more advanced, with intense practice you may be allowed to grade up to a maximum of Blue Sash.
Q: Is the Wing Chun you teach traditional or original?
A: As far as “traditional” or “original” goes, Austin Goh has been an official representative of Grandmaster Yip Man since 1978. Master Lee Shing, Austin Goh’s Master was the President of the Yip Man Association in Europe.
Q: I am a complete beginner how many times a week do you recommend I train?
A: We recommend starting with twice a week and when you feel comfortable increasing the amount you train. You will see the most progress the more you train.
Q: Do you have classes for children?
A: Yes! Every Saturday.
